1. Mortgage Calculator
Often when you have a question about a home that might be outside of the “Pre-Approved” range, your realtor uses a simple mortgage calculator to see if you can afford the more expensive home.
2. MLS (Har.com) / Redfin / Zillow / Loopnet
When you are looking to see what that home across the street is going for that is not on your tour list, your agent will just go back to the MLS to find out the exact asking price. The secondary sites like Redfin or Zillow are a good backup in case the home is a For Sale By Owner home or the home has not been listed yet.
3. DotLoop (or Docusign)
To avoid the excess papers, your realtor uses a signature program such as DotLoop, Docusign, Adobe Echo, etc. These sites work like a dream and help you avoid driving to the office so that you can focus on the most important part of the transaction: the property!
4. Google Maps / Waze
It doesn’t matter how well you know your neighborhood, being able to account for any traffic delays or the secret routes out of a neighborhood is a game changer.
When looking at homes late at night or under low light areas, having a flashlight is essential for you to avoid any hazards and to see door locks.
